WASCA Wings takes contouring and ripping to a higher level. Using this technique will ensure that your paddock becomes a giant sponge. WASCA Wings are unbelievably tough and can gouge through boulders and stony slopes.
Deep ripping with WASCA Wings will:
> destroy hard pans
> contour subsoil without removing the topsoil
> destroy unwanted re-growth
> create a better seed bed
> increase the ability of the soil to absorb water
> allow plant food (eg manure and urine) to stay in your
paddock to nourish pasture
> alter the ecological makeup of the soil so that woody weeds
dissipate
> help to drought proof property

When the soil does eventually shed water because the profiles of the soil has filled, the soil becomes a filter and only pure water is expressed. This means that all nutrients, plant food humus etc are left in the soil. Natural fertilisers such as manure, urine and decaying grass are the best soil conditioners as opposed to synthetic fertilisers which usually disapate into the air (40%) or are washed into the waterways.

Water retention into the soil profile by WASCA Wings contouring and ripping does not require large scale operations and only a modest capital investment. Whereas water retention with above ground structures usually require a large up front investment and a significant scale of operations.
With WASCA Wings contouring and ripping, it is feasible that a $10,000 capital investment is enough to contour rip and seed a 24 ha paddock. Such a paddock could easily give 60 days additional quality grazing each year for 30 steers. In most years this could mean 900 kg more beef or the opportunity to sell cattle on a better market (a 5c/kg price life for 30 bullocks represents $825) or in some years both. In just 2 - 3 months used, good returns can be achieved.
